 Update from the Heartland

No.1232

18.8.25 – 24.8.25

Blog version:  http://heartlandupdate.blogspot.com/

To all,

The follow-up news items:

-- Just when you think our predicament cannot get any worse, [the person who shall no longer be named, AKA no name, the orange one, et al, oh also occasionally potus] tries to defend his order to remove the Tuskegee Airmen display [1231] from the Smithsonian American History Museum. He declared, he wants the museum to focus on the positive of American history rather than exhibits of the negative aspects, i.e., “how bad slavery was.” Words like outrageous, atrocious, disgusting, revolting, et al, seem woefully inadequate to describe the president’s abhorrent actions and pronouncements. If we do not educate our young, inform our citizens, and keep history alive, we will be destined to repeat our mistakes. Slavery was history. It must be remembered and obviously on display for all to see and learn. Slavery was a terrible blight on American history. Slavery cost us nearly half a million precious American citizens, four plus long years of the Civil War, and more than a century of fighting discrimination in all its virulent forms that we still fight to this very day. It cannot and must not be rendered to the shadows. To me, slavery was the American equivalent of the Nazi Holocaust. I condemn the president’s actions is the strongest possible terms—he is bloody, f**ing wrong! Further, I publicly declare him an overt racist, white supremacist.

Comments and contributions from Update no.1231:

Comment to the Blog:

“What happened to the big-deal meeting with Putin at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson? Probably, Putin dictated the time and place of the meeting, which was also an opportunity for him to gather military intelligence about an important base. The Felon planned an ostentatious show of pomp, but Putin didn’t bother with his agenda. My speculation is that Putin has lurid evidence from Epstein’s operation that he showed the Felon and threatened to release. After that, Putin gave the Felon his orders and went home without further ado. I’m not alone in that guess.

“I have college training in Human Resources. The claims used to attack DEI are pure self-pity by the privileged class, used to keep the support of the dimwits.

“Just to be clear, those of us opposed to Netanyahu’s genocide don’t necessarily support Hamas as an entity. We just want the genocide to stop.”

My response to the Blog:

That is a rather cynical view of the Elmendorf summit, but I would have a very hard time arguing against the premise. History is on your side. I still suspect his bias toward other dictators and his affinity for Putin in particular. The optimism within me wants to give him provisional credit; at least, he has gotten them to the early talking stage.

I would agree with your statement. In the ideological traits, conservatism seeks to maintain the status quo and in a few instances regress to the status quo ante when WASPs (White Anglo-Saxon Protestants) controlled everything from the law on down. Now, no name has reenergized the more extreme factions of the right, including white supremacists and Christian nationalists, among others. He has consistently exhibited racism traits himself; he is religious in convenience, which does not seem to bother the religious right. I do NOT want to return to those days. I want progress, improvement, and advancements of democratic thought, not reversion to any form of autocracy.

I could be wrong, but I do not think Israel has the capacity to administer Gaza in the Western Allies’ model in West Germany and Japan. I am still a long way from genocide, but I will agree the current Israeli employment of the Russian model (destroy everything) is contemptible and unacceptable. With that, I join you and others in demanding a stop to the indiscriminate destruction and the outright abuse of the Gazans. I will also add the support of de factooccupation of the West Bank (by enclave colonization) must also stop and be reverted back to Palestinian control toward a two-state solution. At present, I think the Europeans hold the best approach.

“That’s just my opinion, but I could be wrong.”

Another contribution:

“Getting your latest hot-off-press Update out a couple days late. Better late-than-never.

“I will disagree with your assertion that Putin is a dictator. As such, I think to be more objective, that that little guy that usually wears military frontline fatigues, Dictator-Z, is more of a dictator. He just does not happen to be dictator of a large country like Russia with such a rich history. He likely is not gonna be around much longer, so we should likely embrace his presence. He did manage to wear dressier clothes at the big summit in Washington with European leaders on Monday.”

My reply:

Well, now, I suppose if we do not classify Stalin as a dictator, then it would be inappropriate to do so for Putin. There have been far too many window-jumpers, exotic poison victims, aircraft explosions, and such, for me to avoid the classification for Putin.

I must ask, do you classify Hitler as a dictator?

Conversely, I have no clue why you accuse Zelensky of being a dictator. He has not toss anyone out windows. He appears to be far less of a candidate for the dictator label than the current occupant of the Oval Office. Let us remember, the Russians have continued to attack the people, not the Ukrainian military.

“That’s just my opinion, but I could be wrong.”

My very best wishes to all.  Take care of yourselves and each other.

Cheers,

Update no.1231

 Update from the Heartland

No.1231

11.8.25 – 17.8.25

Blog version:  http://heartlandupdate.blogspot.com/

To all,

Twice, [the person who shall no longer be named, AKA no name, the orange one, or more profane monikers (in private)] publicly stated that he was meeting with the dictator Putin in Russia. Now wait, has he given away or sold Alaska back to Russia? Alaska has been United States territory since 30.3.1867. Does this clown of a president even have the slightest clue? The two leaders are meeting on Friday for a “listening” session regarding the Ukraine-Russia War. Their meeting site is reportedly Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, near Anchorage, Alaska, United States of America . . . not even close to Russia. That clown is such a bloody embarrassment, unless you do not care how foolish and ignorant he sounds.

Regrettably, I use far more profane words in private to refer to the buffoon who is our president. I shall strain mightily to suppress the temptation. Further, I have tried to ignore the incessant stream of faux pas, misstatements, misinformation, obfuscation, and outright lies from the orange one. It never stops! The latest such mistake is the no name administration directed the Smithsonian Museum of American History to remove a display dedicated to the Tuskegee Airmen, allegedly claiming it was an unacceptable exhibit to diversity. This outright assault by no name, his administration, the MAGAts, and all their minions on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) has gone too far—far too far for too long. This has got to stop!

For those who may not know the history . . .

Congress passed and President Roosevelt signed into law An Act To provide more effectively for the national defense by carrying out the recommendations of the President in his message of January 12, 1939, to the Congress [PL 76-018; 52 Stat. 555], in which was §4 [52 Stat. 556] that created a group “for the training of any Negro air pilot.” Multiple fighter and bomber units were formed with pilots having dark skin pigmentation, including the 332nd Fighter Group composed of the 99th, 100th, 301st, and 302nd Fighter Squadrons; and the 477th Bombardment Group, composed of the 616th, 617th, 618th, and 619th Bombardment Squadrons. Collectively, these pilots were known as the Tuskegee Airmen. The 332nd Fighter Group distinctively painted the empennage of their P-51 Mustangs bright red, and they, not surprisingly, picked up the additional moniker of “The Red Tails.” History has recorded their extraordinary combat accomplishments in service to the Republic.

During a similar hour of need, in contrast, no name hid behind his father’s money and political connections to avoid service to the Republic when many others, including yours truly, volunteered to serve the Republic. The Tuskegee Airmen chose to volunteer, endure segregation and blatant racism, and more than a little resistance to their service. Even worse, after they had survived the war and legendary combat service, they returned to their country to face renewed racism, lynchings, and many other abuses. I will argue the descendants of those heroic men still face racial animus to this very day.

I had the honor of attending an Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) recruitment event for young citizens with dark skin pigmentation. At the event that weekend, were a half dozen surviving Tuskegee Airmen, all of them well into their elder years. They gave me an exceptional poster. I include an image of the poster below.

A framed picture of two planes

AI-generated content may be incorrect.

    Tuskegee Airmen Poster

I demand the Tuskegee Airmen display in the American History Museum be reinstated immediately. Further, I condemn this blatant racism. Honoring one oppressed group who rose above the discrimination against them does not lessen the praise we give to all those who served. The history of the Tuskegee Airmen is American history.

When anyone supports a convicted felon in a crime, they are complicit—an accomplice. When anyone associates with a convicted felon, they are guilty by association. We are left with no choice but to assume that MAGAt supporters of the orange one support his outrageous racist actions as noted above. As such, I condemn those who support the Felon-in-Chief currently in the Oval Office.

It is interesting for me to note that the acting leader of Hamas, Khalil al-Hayya, is not going hungry or starving. He is probably eating for half a dozen people. Hamas leadership is not wanting for sustenance, while the people they supposedly represent are suffering from malnutrition and starvation. My only conclusion, al-Hayya and the leadership committee want the images of starving Palestinians. They do not want a healthy population.

Comments and contributions from Update no.1230:

    Comment to the Blog:

“I have no idea how you could see Netanyahu’s intention as anything but genocide, unless you’re credulous enough to take his public statements seriously.

“Amendment 14, Section 2, says ‘. . . counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed.’ What part of that talks about citizenship? The rest of it addresses special cases.

“Rockland County, New York, reported 0 votes for Harris-Walz. ‘Why’ is the question. Other unlikely counts exist, and Muskrat made a statement about winning Pennsylvania.

“I believe the labels we use to describe our political outlook matter. So does that ‘conservative’ person. Whether those labels are being distorted to the general public matters as well.”

    My response to the Blog:

No, I do not give much weight to Netanyahu. He is not appreciably different from our Felon-in-Chief. What I do know is, Hamas carried out a horrific, unprovoked, indiscriminate, brutal attack on Southern Israel on 7.10.2023. They continue to hold innocent hostages, not combatants, not prisoners of war—innocent people. I refuse to let Hamas slide, regardless of what Netanyahu says or does. I have a long record of being deeply critical of Netanyahu and his religious right supporters. Just because he is a crazy right extremist does not equate to genocide.

I am not sure where the confusion has come from. That is exactly what I am saying. The Constitution implicitly intended head count, not citizen count.

Do we have any evidence that suggests the vote was tampered with in Rockland County, New York?

I would agree with your assessment. Yes, those elements matter. There is also guilty by association.

     . . . Round two:

“Hamas did indeed attack Israel brutally. Netanyahu resembles the Felon, but his vehicle is Zionism, not the Republican Party, and Zionism’s stated goal has always been sole possession of ancient Palestine. I fear you’ve been taking people’s words too seriously. Israel has been ‘avenged seventy times seven’ and still continues their attack. Hamas has repeatedly stated their willingness to negotiate, which is the reason for continuing to hold hostages. The hostages are Hamas’s only leverage, but there’s no sign Netanyahu cares about them beyond his words.

“Your Constitutional concepts may be too complex for my reading level, which is post-graduate.

“The vote total in Rockland County is public record. I can’t immediately recall who’s investigating that and other totals. What does it take to arouse your suspicions?”

. . . my response to round two:

I suppose the criticism is valid. I do not think so, but I must accept the potential. I take virtually nothing from Netanyahu as true or valid; he is a small, mere short step above the orange one, who I take absolutely nothing from his mouth as true or accurate. Frankly, I suspect you may be accepting Hamas’s public statements. Neither of us knows what is being spoken in negotiations. I highly doubt your Israel has been avenged position. I join you in condemnation of the Netanyahu administration in their ultra-right-wing stance regarding Palestine (which I believe is NOT the majority position in Israel); I have long condemned the Israeli right wing for that foolish position. I am not quite to the level of joining the European position, but I am far closer to Europe than I am to our current administration or the current Israeli administration.

The issue we face currently is the conservative “strict constructionist” mindset of explicit “as written” versus the intent of the provision. The issue of who to count in a census is not explicitly stated. I believe the intent is “head count.”

LOL. Well, that is a fair criticism. I suppose the next relevant question is, how many non-Republican voters are registered to vote in Rockland County, New York?

     . . . Round three:

“Zionism’s history is replete with genocidal goals. Hamas has acted as if their desire for peace and their use of prisoners for leverage are facts. The casualty counts come from multiple sources.

“I’m a literal reader. I see ‘the whole number of persons in each State’ as clearly including every person. How else can it be read?

“Your last question I’d have to look up. However, if the Rockland County registered voters were 100% Republican, that would arouse my suspicions in itself.”

. . . my response to round three:

I will not defend the current Israeli government, nor will I defend the atrocious actions of Hamas, before, during or after the October 7th attack. A two-state solution is the only way to peace.

That is how I read the words as well. Clearly, no name is trying to create some obscure twist of interpretation, just as he did on January 6th. I cannot imagine any other legal interpretation. However, the current composition of the Supreme Court has surprised and disappointed me more than a few times. They may well do so again.

Absolutes are very rare indeed, but they are not impossible. Your initial quoted finding does raise suspicions. It is just a point of curiosity. Hopefully, a thorough investigation will establish the facts, eventually.

My very best wishes to all.  Take care of yourselves and each other.

    Update no.1230

     Update from the Heartland

    No.1231

    4.8.25 – 10.8.25

    Blog version:  http://heartlandupdate.blogspot.com/

    To all,

Just when I thought it was safe to go in the water . . . .

A routine week started normally enough . . . a list of things to be done. I went to the hospital for what was planned to be a not-so-routine but important outpatient biopsy. I was held in recovery for a couple of hours for observation. From that point, Tuesday afternoon, the plan went off the rails. I was bleeding internally. I spent the next three days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). I must say, it is rather disconcerting when everyone keeps asking you if you are “normally this pale.” It took an intravascular surgeon and a huge machine more than two hours to find the leak, but thank the Good Lord Above,  he found it and sealed it. I will spare everyone the Too Much Information (TMI) gory details. You may ask if you wish to know. Let it suffice to say that I am still alive and upright (barely) but still upright. I am back home under Jeanne's loving care, although moving very slowly, but at least I am moving. This was the week from hell!

You break it, you fix it!

The Israeli Security Cabinet reportedly voted to take over Gaza City, not the Gaza Strip, but just Gaza City. The city has been reduced to rubble and broken buildings. Look at aerial photographs of the Gaza Strip. The population has been forced south to the bottom of the Strip, where they live in tents if they are lucky and struggle daily to find food for their families.

I understand and appreciate Israel’s intentions and objectives. I do not agree with their methods. From my perspective, they are doing precisely what the Russians are doing in Ukraine—destruction for destruction’s sake. They are punishing the people, not the Hamas fighters. We know they have seriously hurt the Hamas leadership structure, but they have not eliminated the capability of Hamas to inflict violence on Israeli citizens. The Israelis should be using the model of the Western Allies in Germany and Japan, but regrettably, they are not. They appear to be using the Russian model instead. For that reason alone, I will continue to condemn Netanyahu and his government, just as I condemn Putin and his government.

The administration of no name has indicated its intention to issue an executive order restricting the counting of people for the decennial census to citizens only. In this instance, the wording of the U.S. Constitution is not clear. Since 1790, the U.S. Government has conducted a census every ten years to count the population of each state for the purpose of apportionment—seats in the House of Representatives, taxes, and other uses. For those who may be interested, the applicable provision in the Constitution is Article I, Section 2, Clause 3—the “actual Enumeration” provision.

I believe the prevailing historical legal interpretation is that the census is a head count without regard to or qualification of what a ‘head’ means. No name and his MAGA minions want to exploit that nebulous definition to constrict the working definition as tightly possible, and they are quite willing to test constitutional law to do so. With the conservative majority on the bench of the U.S. Supreme Court might well conveniently ignore history and allow the Executive Branch to restrict the definition of who to count in a census.

We witness an ongoing demonstration of why the MAGAts are so focused on redistricting in Texas to reduce the number of Democratic seats in the House. They will use all means available to them. All of this effort is intended for one purpose only—maintain control of the instruments of State regardless of what the voters want. This is fascism at work, boys and girls. Plain and simple! Only we can stop it.

On 4.March.2023, during the campaign, [the person who shall no longer be named], AKA no name, or the orange one] spoke at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). He stated publicly, “And if you put me back in the White House, their reign is over. Their reign will be over, and they know it. And America will be a free nation once again. We’re not a free nation right now. We don’t have free press. We don’t have free anything. In 2016, I declared I am your voice. Today, I add I am your warrior, I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution. I am your retribution. Not going to let this happen. Not going to let it happen. I will totally obliterate the deep state. I will fire the unelected bureaucrats and shadow forces who have weaponized our justice system like it has never been weaponized before, these are sick people, and I will put the people back in charge of this country again, the people will be back in charge of our country.” [Emphasis mine.]

Well wonder of wonders. No name has been true to his word. He and his MAGAt minions have managed to subvert the Department of Justice and virtually all the department’s enforcement agencies—FBI, DEA, ATF, Marshals, & U.S. Interpol. The Department of Justice should be and may soon will be renamed to the “National Presidential Retribution Department.” They have publicly announced investigations into virtually every person who opposed the orange one.

Further, the “deep state” is a QAnon construct that the MAGAts and far right have latched onto for the focus of their energies against the federal government. It does not exist except in the demented minds of no name and other QAnon believers. As with virtually every boogeyman or troll under the bridge the MAGAts scream about, they offer no evidence, zero, to support their general condemnation of federal civil service employees.

Not surprisingly, when we apply the magic decoder ring, what no name is really saying is, “If I am president again, I will use every instrument of State at my disposal to retaliate against anyone and everyone who had the audacity to oppose me. I do not care a twit about you, but I will have my retribution, my revenge against those who stood in my way.” So far, he has fulfilled that promise. We elected him knowing beforehand what he was going to do. Is this really the nation we want? He accuses the Democrats of weaponizing the Justice Department, when in fact, it is no name and his MAGAts who are doing so in a huge subversion of the federal government.

Comments and contributions from Update no.1230:

    Comment to the Blog:

“The latest scuffle with the Felon is a distraction from all the others. Ghislaine Maxwell’s transfer to a minimum-security facility makes it much easier to kill her (like Epstein). We should listen to the victims of Epstein’s operation, who must be provided more security than any other players.

“The Republicans’ public hatred of government (while serving in government) goes back to Reagan. They want to get their corporate owners free from any restraints on their greed. The extreme Christians who abet them don’t want to set anyone free of anything. They want to control everyone’s every thought.

“Have you considered that the voters you’re so upset with might have psychological histories similar to the Felon’s except in different environments?”

. . . my response to the Blog:

Perhaps so. However, I do not think minimum security prisons have violent inmates. I would think it is easier to kill an inmate where there are men capable of such crimes. I suspect her transfer was more likely a quid pro quo for her expanded cooperation. She wants out. Short of that, she wants a cushier environment. We may well know whether your assessment is correct soon enough. Those who do not want her to talk want her silenced as quickly as possible, to eliminate the threat to them. I think it is more likely the orange one will pardon her as part of his quid pro quo to silence her.

While I tend to agree, I think it is a little more complex than that. They hate government that does things they do not want done, e.g., school lunch programs, aid to disaster victims, and such. It seems to me that “extreme Christians” as you say want a Christian theocracy, i.e., their dictator in control. The very definition of conservative means to preserve things as they were, when they dominated political life, or the ante-bellum South. They want a harder government. I want a softer government.

Well, good Q. I would say no, I only know what happens when one faction votes or is allowed to vote. I imagine there are many reasons different citizens choose not to vote, but I suspect the most likely is the difficulty in voting. A business executive can take a few hours off to vote. A construction worker, or an unemployed person cannot do so. I do not think I understand the “psychological histories similar to the Felon’s.”

     . . .  a follow-up comment:

“Study actual spy history. There’s no specific reason to think an inmate killed Epstein. The primary threat to Maxwell isn’t from inmates. Minimum security facilities do things like outside work release. Many have minimal containment even when the prisoner is on the property. Access to Maxwell by an outsider (or employee) would be much easier in the minimum-security setting. No insiders want her ‘cooperation.’

“The mouthpieces hate government that helps others, and the hateful Christians are part of that. The people making actual decisions just want to serve their buyers (and themselves).

“I didn’t refer to those choosing not to vote. Choosing not to vote is a direct result of not seeing a candidate that will help the voter and/or the nation. The DNC doesn’t get it. The Felon’s voters see the crazy guy as a leader because that’s all they know.”

     . . . my follow-up comment:

Well, yes! The long and the short of it is, where there is a will, there is a way. If anyone wants to off her, they will find a way no matter where she is. That is true, no one on the inside of that affair wants her to talk, well except for the victims.

The ‘mouthpieces’ indeed! The MAGAts only want the government to help them, no one else. That is why they are cheering with the cancellation of funding for almost every social services program carried out or facilitated by the federal government. This is classic us against them. That is not the nation I accept. That is not who I am. That is not what I want my nation to be.

OK. I can accept all that.

    Another contribution:

“Glory! I sense a resurgence of energy in your commentary, perhaps tempered by the cost of recent relocation trauma but probably enhanced by the advantages of the same, all as a result of wise marital compromise and/or blessed habits. Congratulations!

“Only one itch on my part: your occasional unqualified use of the word ‘conservative’ within lists of less admirable labels. As a self-labeled (as you know from our years of correspondence) ‘conserviberal,’ this stings, for some reason.

“At least, I suggest, put quotes around the word to avoid this imputed guilt by association.

“Or perhaps it's too late; perhaps the word has been appropriated as a derogatory term by the enemies of true conservatism and is lost to our lexicon.

“There are RINOs, right? There are also CINOs (conservatives in name only, a suggestion from my sweetheart). I suggest the current GOP is chuck full of CINOs, as well as plain ol' cowards afraid of the orange one.”

    My reply:

LOL. I do not know about resurgence, but hey, I am trying to get back into the comfort of my routine. Still too many things to be done around the house and too many medical appointments. Things will settle out eventually; I just need to drive on.

I certainly can understand your “itch.” I used to think of my political persuasion as conservative. My abandonment of the ideology progressed slowly as “conservatives” migrated to the intransigence of “my way or the highway.” I do not want to preserve things the ways they were. [I could launch into a long essay on the ‘why.’] I want progress. I want a nation that treats people [rich-poor, black-white, Christian-atheist, female-male, gay-straight, et al ad infinitum] with respect regardless of any one or combination of the social factors. [Just a little FYI note on the previous sentence: “conservatives” pick sides. Not acceptable!]  We are a very long way from that idyllic state. I acknowledge that not all “conservatives” are the same or as radical as the extreme, but it is getting harder to make that distinction. To be candid, we need “conservatives,” but we need compromise more. What is happening today is wrong, very wrong, in almost every way I can imagine.

You may well be correct. The calcification of intransigence may have gone too far, past the point of no return. I hope not, but I have to recognize the possibility. “CINO” may well be accurate. Compromise is not a cussword; it is an essential element in all viable democracies.

My very best wishes to all.  Take care of yourselves and each other.

    Cheers,

    Cap                  :-)

    Update no.1229

     Update from the Heartland

    No.1229

    28.7.25 – 3.8.25

    Blog version:  http://heartlandupdate.blogspot.com/

    To all,

Like all other dictatorships throughout history, the dictators do not like or want the truth. The only thing that matters to the dictator is his imagined version of events, situations, issues, and circumstances. He alone defines what he wants the people to know. Truth does not matter a twit, only his narrative. So it is with the orange one. He did not like the monthly jobs report, so he immediately fired the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Erika Lee McEntarfer, and claimed she had “rigged” the job numbers "to make the Republicans, and ME, look bad." Number one, I suspect the commissioner does not handle the data until they are ready to report. When the dictator does not like the numbers, he kills the messenger. The orange one refuses to believe that his terrible tariff war could have an adverse effect on the nation’s economy, when it is quite possibly the paramount reason for the contracting economy.

This latest idiocy is quite like all the others. The orange one has claimed he was rooting out “fraud, waste, and abuse.” But, what that phrase means is he was starving or hobbling those federal activities he did not like or approve of. After all, feeding needy children at school is the responsibility of the parents not the federal government—typical conservative dogma. Humanity smamity!

The man seeks not the truth, only those who conform to his will. If it waddles like a dictator, quacks like a dictator, and looks like a dictator, then it probably is a dictator. And worse, the Republican majority in Congress is allowing him to be a dictator, and in some cases, encouraging the man’s behavior. Why, you may ask? Because the orange one is their dictator. The mid-term elections are next year. Everyone must vote for the best candidate on the ballot.

The MAGAts have begun whining about how unfair our scrutiny and criticism of the orange one’s word choices and speaking style. The bunch apparently refuse to recognize his incessant twitching when he reads the teleprompter, or speaks in broken, incomplete sentences and expects us to understand (or perhaps he does not want us to understand, because he has nothing to say). He does not look like a president, act like a president, or speak like a president. The best I can figure is he is the buffoon tool of the political conservatives, social conservatives, fiscally conservative, and religious conservative among us—just a convenient tool. The MAGAts apparently do not care about anything presidential. They seem to only care about dismantling the federal government. They do not care a twit about the disadvantaged among us. They are simply subscribers and believers in Ayn Rand’s every man for himself—survival of the fittest. That is not the kind of world we should accept, tolerate, or encourage. We are much better than that brutal world in the conservative mind.

Once again, Robert Reich offers an excellent opinion of contemporary events and issues. In this instance, he provides another view of a wannabe dictator striving to achieve his desired state, where he is the only voice that matters.

“The Fine Print of Trump Fascism – The Trump regime is taking over every major institution in America. Here's how.”

    by Robert Reich

    Published: JUL 31 [2025]

Some of us can choose to ignore the facts and reality to hold onto their desired dream world, but that does not alter reality. I must say, it is hard to fault the orange one. He was literally a dictator in his domain. He has always been a con-man, hawking worthless tripe to innocent people who wanted to believe in his magical snake-oil elixir. He has also been afflicted with malignant narcissism since his youth under his parents’ tutelage. He is what he is and has always been. It is hard to fault a man who has been consistent in his behavior.
